最後のフィニッシュ艇KahunaのフィニッシュをFollow Me Boatで見に行って来ました。
I went out to see the last boat Kafuna finish the race on the Follow Me Boat.
朝4時だったのでほとんど見えませんでしたが。。。。Follow me boatとレース艇とのVHFでのやりとりを聞けたのは貴重な体験でした。
Though it was too dark to see the boat as it was around 4am, it was really nice to listen to the communication between the race boat and the follow me boat on VHF.
これにてTranspac 2013レース終了！

今日は表彰式です。Award ceremony.
最近は屋外のワイキキシェルで開催していましたが今回はホテル。
It has held at Waikiki Shell but it was at a hotel this time.
各種トロフィーが壇上に並べられてます。歴史のあるレースならでは。

この銀製のヨットのトロフィーはDoradeが1936年に優勝した時に獲得したもの！なんと77年前。
Dorade received this silver yacht trophy when they won the race in 1936 and they brought this back to Hawaii to show this to people! 77 years ago!

いつものことながら多くの人々にお世話になりました。
A lot of people helped us as always.

2001年の初出場時からお世話になっているJerry and Marilyn Montgomery夫妻。
Jerry and Marilyn Montgomery who has helped us since 2001 when we first race the Transpac.
そして個人的にもとってもお世話になっているDon and Chris Clothier夫妻。
and Don and Chris Clothier who has taken care of me a lot!
そしてなんといっても600人以上いるといわれているホノルルボランティアのみなさん。特に私はフィニッシュ前から本部の手伝いをしているので、本当にたくさんの人が睡眠不足になりながらレース運営に走り回っているのを見て来ました。トランスパックならではの温かいウェルカムはボランティアの力あってこそ！
And we have to remember, this race never happens without more than 600 volunteers who worked 24-7 during the race. Especially as I worked as a volunteer for the race, I can tell they are sucha hard workers. They really make an effort to welcome the boats with warm aloha!
というわけで毎回一番功績のあるボランティアが表彰されます。今回は私もとってもお世話になっているLinellが表彰されました。（写真ぼけちゃった。。。）
So that's why there is a trophy for the most outstanding volunteer. This year, my friend Linell won the trophy! (ooops out of focus!)
そんなこんなトランスパックが終盤を迎える中。。。。

オーナー含めた4人の2013年トランスパック戦士たちは昨日楽園を後にし、家に帰ることなく五ヶ所湾に飛んで行きました。HORIZONでパールレースです。「ほんとに好きだね。。。。」と色んな人にいわれています。
4 of our Transpac crew including the owner left the paradise to Japan yesterday and moved to Gokasho Bay straight from airports for the Pearl Race on HORIZON. They just love sailing......
