Beecomがフィニッシュしました！
Beecom finished the race!


Gefionもこのあとすぐに到着しましたが、Bengalの到着が明日に近づいてきたため、必要以上にバタバタ（勝手に一人で）してたため、写真撮れなかった！
Although Gefion arrived right after Beecom, I was busy doing some stuff for Bengal (which I didn't have to, I was just pancking by myself to be ready for Bengal's arrival tomorrow, I could not take photos of them. 

レース本部も忙しくなってきました。中も外も人がわんさか。
The race head quarter is getting so busy, a lot of people both inside and the outside the shack.


ロールコールのホワイトボードも２枚目に突入。
Second white board for the rollcall note. So many boats are coming in today and tomorrow.


Bengalのホストもパーティーの準備に入りました。バウ用のレイ。
Bengal's host is getting ready for the party. Original bow lei!

仕事もろくにせず迎えた朝。
The morning after I didn't work at all even though I was at the head quarter office.

日本艇2艇が到着したのでお出迎え。11分差でのフィニッシュです。
I went to see two Japanese boats coming in the channel who finisshed by 11 minutes.

どちらもTranspac rowにドックイン。
Both came in Transpac Row.




両艇オーナー。雑誌の取材の通訳をしたのですが「2,250マイルもの長いレースでマッチレースをした感想は？」と「元々日本でライバル同士で、一緒に出場したのか？」という質問をされていました。
Owners of KIHO and ten quarter. They were asked "How did you feel about match racing in the 2,250nm race?" and "Did you know each other before and decide to come to the race together?" by a sailing magazine.


一瞬どこの国にいるのかわからなくなってきます。
I don't know where I am, Japan?


両艇のホストが一緒だったので、パーティーも同時開催。
Since the host for the teams was the same one, they had a party together.



スポナビハワイの阿部さんも駆けつけました。
SpoNavi Hawaii came celebrate the arrival of Japanese boats.


そして今日も深夜から6時まで。今日はちゃんと役に立てるようにがんばります。。。
I'm at the shack tonight as well. This time, I will work!

明日はGefionが到着かな。
It looks like Gefion will finish tomorrow.

今日はFriday Night Race.　
Friday Night Race!

昨日到着したトライマラン。
The trimaran from the sea which finished the race yesterday.

このメンバーともあと何回乗れるかなぁ。。。。
I wonder how many more times I can sail with them ....?






私達が自分たちのレースコースのダイアモンドヘッドのブイを回った30分後くらいに100ftのラガマフィンがフィニッシュ。フィニッシュ現場見れませんでした。
30 minutes after we rounded the Diamond Head red buoy, Ragamuffin finshed the race. We missed their finish!

水平線上にある１つだけでっかい船がラガマフィン。

There were a lot of people at Ragamuffin's party.

ラガマフィンとはシドニーのボートヤードで一緒だったので（というかヤードのオーナーがボートオーナーのシドフィッシャー氏）、懐かしい顔に会いました。
We moored our boat at Sydney City Marine where Ragamuffin is also moored when we were in Sydney. (Actually the owner of the boat, Syd Fischer, is the owner of the boat yard). So I saw some familier faces.


シドニーシティーマリンでもらったTシャツ着てったら喜んでくれました。
I celebrated their finish with Sydney City Marine Tshirt which we received when we were in Sydney.


前日の真夜中シフトからくる寝不足も手伝い、久しぶりに記憶が飛んだ。。。。
I got so drunk as I didn't sleep much last night.......


ごめんなさい真夜中～朝6時シフト、ずっと寝て終了。
I felt sooo bad that I was sleeping all the time during my shift at the race head quarter, midnight to 6 in the morning.

酔っ払ってる時の方が英語うまいらしいです私。
My friend told me my English is pretty good when I am drunk.

HYC内にウェルカムパーティー用のテントが設置され、デコレーションも始まりました。
A party tents are now set in HYC and volunteers are decorating them.



今日からレース本部も２４時間体制。各チームの家族や応援隊が到着し始め、レース本部に立ち寄る人も増えて来ました。
The race head quarter opens 24 hours from today. Families and supporters of the teams are arriving and visiting the shack.

今日はKaneohe YCのThursday Night Raceに乗せてもらいました。
My friend took me to Thursday Night Race at Kanaohe Yacht Club.

驚いたのは、スタートのしかた。「スタートライン」はなく、このドックがスタート。クラブハウスの前にみんなスターン付しています。ハンディキャップによってスタート時間が決まっていて、クラブハウスの電光掲示板の時計にしたがって、各々自分のスタート時間にセールを上げてドックアウト（というかレーススタート）していきます。
What I was surprised at and was impressed by was how they start a race. They don't have "a start line", the start is this dock. All the boat are moored in front of the club at stern. Each boat has their start time according to the handicaps and start (which means dock out) at own timing by seeing a clock hooked up on the yacht club wall.


HYCやWYCとはまた一味違ってとってもアットホームで広々としたクラブ。山に囲まれたロケーションもとっても好きです。
The atmosphere of the yacht club is a bit different from HYC and WYC, really homelike atmosphere. I like the location that it is surrounded by mountains.


このセールを上げてる船が今日乗せてもらったNo Breaksって船です。
The one with a main sail is the boat that I sailed on, "No Breaks."


ワイキキ沖でのFriday Night Raceは外洋だけど、ここのレースは湾内。とっても穏やかです。
While the Friday Night Race is held in the open sea, the race here is inside the bay, so calm.


みずみずしい木々が生い茂ったハワイの山、好きです。
I love the mountains in Hawaii which are covered with lush forest.



だいたいバウに若い人がいて、後ろに行くにしたがってベテラン、という配置が常、と思っていたけど
I had thought it is always the case that youngers on a bow and older on stern, 

このチームはベテラン二人がバウとスピントリムという体力勝負なポジションでした。元気です。
however, two veterans were on the bow, one is a bowman and the other is a spinnaker trimmer. They rock! 

気持ちい風と心あらわれる景色のレースを堪能したあとは、、、トライマランLending Clubのドックインをニアミスでちょろって見てから
After I enjoyed nice breeze and the beautiful view of mountains, I went back to the club and missed the first boat "Lending Club" arriving at the harbor,

0-6時シフト。すんごい眠いです。次はManateaです、明日の朝８時くらいかな。
then am working midnight to 6am shift at the race head quarter. The next boat will come in around 8 in the morning?



そうそう、今日の朝の散歩中の虹。
By the way.....rainbow this morning I saw during a morning walk was so beautiful.

500rawの船が移動してくれて、フィニッシュ後の参加艇が係留する場所の準備ができました。レース本部小屋の目の前のドックです。
Thanks to the boat owners, the boats at 500 raw moved to other places and here we have a place for Transpac boats just in front of the shack.





Kaneohe にあったBarn Door トロフィーがHYC にやってきました。プレートを磨き直して綺麗になってます！
The Barn Door Trophy arrived at HYC from Kaneohe YC. The metal plates have been polished and it's so shiny.


さて、今日(これを書いてるハワイ時間18日)からレース本部小屋は24時間体制に。そして今日の夕方にも最初のフィニッシュ艇が到着しそうです。
The race HQ will be 24hours from today(18th in Hawaii) and the first finish boat will be here tonight!
